A 57-year-old man has been airlifted from the Central Coast after he suffered head injuries in a fall while undertaking home renovations this afternoon.

CareFlight’s rapid response rescue helicopter was called to Terrigal shortly before 1pm.

The man had been knocked unconscious after tumbling down about 12 stairs.

CareFlight’s specialist doctor and intensive care paramedic treated the man at the scene, where he had regained consciousness.

He was airlifted to Westmead Hospital in a stable condition.
